You're the reason for my everything
You're the "why" I can't explain
You're the dream I'll never leave behind.
You're the name-sake of my butterfly
You're the hope I can't let die
You're the girl that won't get off my mind.
You're the love-poem I could never write
You're the thought that keeps me up at night
You're the smile that doesn't want to fade away.
You're the face that lives in fantasy
You're the dream I almost see
You're those whispered words I'll never dare to say.
... I love you.
You're the "why" I can't explain
You're the dream I'll never leave behind.
You're the name-sake of my butterfly
You're the hope I can't let die
You're the girl that won't get off my mind.

Love
It's the song on the radio that reminds you of what you had and what you lost.
It's the smile that a baby gives when she is genuinely happy.
It's the sound of a laugh from someone who hasn't laughed in a long, long time.
It's the friend who still remembers you even if you call after fifteen years.
It's the last piece of chocolate saved for you in a box you thought was empty.
It's the gift that is exactly what you needed, when you needed it.
It's the two hour ride across town, just so she can see you before she leaves.
It's the dog who waits for you to come home, just to give you all the affection in the world.
It's the companionship o

Running Away
"What are you afraid of?" He had asked her as they lay there, under a bay window that showed a velvet black sky, sprinkled with sparkling diamonds. After a few minutes, a hand reached out and took his. He looked down at the soft hand, paper white with rivulets of sapphire under the skin. It had never occurred to him just how much he loved her hands until now.
"Would you like the truth? Or will a lie suffice?" A dulcet voice whispered. She had still not turned to look at him, but her hand in his remained strong.
"The truth." He always asked her for the truth. He didn't want rubies of falsehood, of lies, to ruin what they had taken so long to

She Should've Said Yes
She was greeted by a warm smile, "Say you love me..."
The girl bit her lip, "I don't think I can."
The smile faltered, "But.... why not...?"
"I know that you love somebody else more," murmured the girl, the hard words sticking in her throat.
There was silence, before, "If I have you then I won't need him."
She was dubious, "You'll always need him."
"No, I won't," A glimmer of a grin danced once more upon the lips, "Because your words will guide me away from copper sin and although my eyes are grey and apt to wander yours

I know, I know, I'm tired of cheesy love-poems, too. But those are pretty much all I've been able to write lately...
My muse sorta ran out on me. I haven't written anything good in about a week. I'll be better later, gais, promise.
BUT YEAH EXPLANATION OF THIS. A friend of mine who doesn't watch this account recently posted a poem about how she felt she was "nothing". She'll never read this, but I felt like I should write it anyway. >.>
